Lisa Deguire is a fluently bilingual (French) training and organizational development professional with 20 years in human resources. Her expertise is in the areas of functional training management, organizational design, talent management, leadership development, and HR/learning systems. During her corporate career, she established and led the training function in five organizations; led the implementation of HR/learning systems; implemented national and global award winning leadership development programs; applied requisite organization theory in restructuring organizations (M&A or downsizing); and, implemented numerous strategic HR processes such as performance management and succession planning.
Lisa consults on all aspects of training and organizational development. She is a seasoned facilitator and focuses on HR topics, soft-skills and management development workshops. Lisa is also an experienced conference presenter and is often sought-after to speak on training, leadership, organizational design, and culture.
Prior to joining Brown Consulting Group, Lisa held progressively senior positions in a variety of different industries including a Canadian privately-owned pharmaceutical manufacturing company, a municipality, a provincial crown-corporation in agriculture, a national wholesale distribution and logistics company, and two mining companies. In one publicly-traded mining company, Lisa worked internationally as the Global Head of Talent Management and completed an expatriate secondment to a large mine operation in Suriname as Head of HR. In her most recent role, Lisa was the VP of HR for an iron-ore mine operation in the Arctic.
Lisa is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and a member in good standing with the Institute for Performance and Learning. She has a degree in science (University of Waterloo), an executive mini-MBA (Schulich), and an adult learning diploma (Langevin Learning Services). Lisa is also a certified facilitator of Effective Intelligence™; and administrator of the TIPOL assessment.
When she is not consulting, Lisa holds the volunteer role of Regional Manager for Avanti Women, an organization that supports the development and empowerment of women through all phases of life and career.
