On behalf of our client, CPA Professional Liability Plan Inc. (“CPA PLI”), we are recruiting a Professional Liability Claims Specialist – a results-driven professional with the empathy, intelligence, and determination to guide clients through a sometimes lengthy claims process. You will manage a portfolio of professional liability insurance claims for CPA PLI’s accounting clients. Specifically, you will be assessing coverage, investigating, evaluating liability and damages, managing reserves, engaging and overseeing experts, mediating, negotiating, and settling claims, all while ensuring meticulous documentation of the process.
You will be exposed to a wide range of accounting firms and a diverse array of challenges facing the profession. You will benefit from and contribute to a unique body of knowledge and expertise steeped in 35 years of dedicated focus on protecting and defending accounting firms across Canada. This is a unique and dynamic position!

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years work experience in managing professional liability insurance claims
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited university and/or LL.B. equivalent;
- Current member of the Chartered Insurance Professional Society (CIP or FCIP).
- Exceptional analytical, critical and strategic-thinking skills;
- Very strong administrative, time management and organizational skills;
- Proactive problem-solving capacity, finding creative solutions to meet the objective;
- Shrewd negotiating capabilities;
- Effective relationship management, establishing trust, using discretion and acting professionally, to maintain effective working relationships;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, and
- Strong proficiency in basic office software (Office 365 or equivalent).
